Title: New formats request
Post by: Castor69 on 17 July 2010, 13:22:11
Hello. There are nice formats, but currently not supported: Corel images (such as PSP), JPEG XR (but not through WIC - native if possible), SGI and Dr. Halo. Corel, SGI and Dr. Halo are supported by old lib GraphicEx, so probably there are zero problems to adapt in Imaging?

Hi, old SGI and Dr. Halo could be added quite easily (but are they still used somewhere??).
PSP image support would be nice (I still use older version of PSP) but it would be similar to PSD support: only subset of features could be supported - it's quite complex.
JPEG XR is based on MS's HDPhoto which I had planned to add for years - this wouldn't be native Pascal, but obj/a files linked to the application (similar to how JPEG2000 is handled now). But there are probably some changes in file format between HDPhoto and JPEG XR, so I guess I'll have to wait for some library that supports it.

Hi,

Dr. Halo is saveable by PSP, so I think someone maybe use it ;)
Adobe and Corel images can be loaded as flatten - this is enough. I'm waiting for this functionality impatiently, it's very, very usefull :)

I'll add PSP loading for the next version (support probably similar like PSD now, flatten).
But I'm not sure if the format has not changed significantly since Corel took over JASC (I have only JASC PSP 9 for testing).
