Title: animated GIF and OpenGL
Post by: deathshadow on 29 July 2012, 17:40:14
First, great library -- a bit large in terms of filesize, but that goes with being so fully featured... but

Some tutorials or clear examples in the docs on some things would REALLY help... for the life of me I can't figure out how animated (GIF or APNG) is even supposed to work, much less how to handle it in OpenGL.

BTW, working in FPC, and no, I'm NOT using Lazarus. I've got this weird mental block where I can't learn visual programming or use that needlessly complex UI -- much less even make sense out of the VCL or it's FPC equivalent... I could JUST BARELY understand OWL a decade and a half ago -- when Delphi made the switch, they lost me completely... which is really weird since I can hand assemble my own x86, z80 or 6502 machine language and been programming for close to three decades.

So, in FPC, working from the command line without all the extra crap that just gets in the way of writing software, how does one load a GIF or APNG and bind it to a openGL texture, and handle the animation?
